Visitors should be aware that the business of the Court may affect public access to the building and visitor programs. Please check Today at the Court on the homepage
for the Court’s daily calendar. On days when the Court is in session, the visitors’ entrances open at 7:30 a.m. for persons with official business and those attending Court.
The Supreme Court of the United States is located on First Street NE between East Capitol Street and Maryland Avenue, across from the U.S. Capitol and next to the Library of
Congress.
Visitors may enter the building from the doors located to the left (Northwest Door) and right (Southwest Door) of the main steps on the plaza level. An accessible entrance and
exit is located along Maryland Avenue on the left side of the building. For more information about building accessibility, please see the Accessibility webpage.
All visitors must pass through security screening prior to entry. During the months of March through June, visitors should anticipate longer wait times to enter the building
due to larger crowds visiting D.C.
